kenakian特別企画展《 創造、そして⏤ 》
このたびkenakianの活動理念へご賛同くださる方々からのご支援を頂き、ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2023⏤Collaborationセクションへ参加させていただく運びとなりました。アジア諸国との国際交流の⽞関⼝・九州福岡を舞台とするアートフェアへ、本年度の活動 ”kenakian 2023 プロジェクト（テーマ：芸術と国際交流を楽しむプロジェクト）” の⼀環として出展をさせていただきます。
kenakianの信念とする言葉「芸術の⼒を信じ可能性を追求する⾏為は、⽂化を洗練させ、精神性豊かな社会を形成することにつながる」は、芸術の⼒を信じる者が追求する創造とは、誰もまだ知り得ない,可能性に満ちたものであることを意味しています。ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2023では、九州の地の縁、そして美術家による創造の⽬の前にひろがる地平のさらにその向こうのひろがりを感じてみたいという望みを動機に、九州に縁のある作家４名の作品を出展させていただきます。ぜひお楽しみいただけましたら幸いです。
We are pleased to announce our participation in the Collaboration section of ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2023. This valuable opportunity has been made possible by the support of people who agree kenakian’s philosophy of action. We will be exhibiting as part of this year’s activity “kenakian 2023 Project (theme: Project to enjoy Art and International exchange)” at the Art Fair in Fukuoka, the gateway to international exchange with Asian countries.
kenakian’s belief that “the act of believing in the power of art and pursuing its possibilities leads to a refined culture and a spiritually rich society” means that the “creation” pursued by artists is something full of possibilities that no one knows yet. At ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2023, kenakian will be exhibiting the works of four artists with connections to Kyushu, motivated by the desire to feel beyond the horizons that lie before our eyes through the creations of artists and their connections to Kyushu. We hope you enjoy the creation by the artists.

【美術作家の紹介】
坂口寛敏 Hirotoshi SAKAGUCHI
1949年 福岡県福岡市生まれ。1975年 東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科油画専攻を修了した後、西ドイツに８年間滞在する。ミュンヘン美術アカデミー卒業。帰国後には東京藝術大学美術学部油画にて教鞭をとり、芸術家としての活動や経験を通じた指導をはじめ美術教育の現場に長年携わる。絵画制作やランドスケープアートのほか、アートを介した地域交流なども各地で実践。近年には、秩父FORESTの活動に加わり自然の永続的な循環に関わるプロジェクトを展開するなど、作品制作と並行してその実践は多岐に連動している。
1949 Born in Fukuoka, Japan / 1975 M.F.A. in Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts
He then spent eight years in West Germany. Graduated from the Kunstakademie Munich. After returning to Japan, he taught in oil painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, where he has been involved in art education for many years, including teaching through his activities and experiences as an artist. In addition to painting and landscape art, he also practices community exchange through art in various locations. In recent years, he has joined the activities of Chichibu FOREST, a project concerned with the perpetual circulation of nature. His activities are linked in a wide range of ways alongside the production of his artworks.

白川昌生 Yoshio SHIRAKAWA
1948年 福岡県北九州市生まれ。1970年に渡欧し、ストラスブール大学文学部哲学学科、ストラスブール州立美術学校、カールスルーエ国立美術大学、パリ国立美術学校にて学ぶ。1981年国立デュッセルドルフ美術大学卒業。13年間を欧州で暮らし、帰国後は群馬を拠点にしながら幅広い芸術活動を続けている。1974年より国内外での作品発表多数。地域における芸術的実践、執筆活動、シンポジウムや対談の企画・登壇、専門学校や大学など教育の場での授業や講和など多様な活動を展開している。

He moved to Europe in 1970 and lived there for 13 years. He has been showing his work in Japan and abroad since 1974. Since his return to Japan, he has been based in Gunma, where he has been involved in a wide range of artistic activities. His diverse activities include artistic activities in the local community, writing, organising and speaking at symposia and dialogues, teaching and lecturing at technical schools and universities.

土屋貴哉 Takayoshi TSUCHIYA
1974年 東京都⽣まれ。佐賀県在住。東京藝術大学大学院修士課程修了。国際メディアート展「FILE SP 2014」（サンパウロ）日本代表作家として文化庁より選出派遣。経産省海外需要開拓支援機構「アート領域を代表する映像作品」選出。90年代末より平面、立体、写真、映像、インスタレーション、ネットアート等多様な媒体を横断し、人の意識や感覚へ繊細に介入する概念的作品を発表。私たちとこの世界の関係のさまを時に切なくまたユーモラスに問いかける。Pigozzi Collection（イタリア）、Cmarts（スイス）財団等に作品収蔵

2001 Completed master’s course in painting at Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts
Selected and dispatched by the Agency for Cultural Affairs to represent Japan at the international media art exhibition “FILE SP 2014” (São Paulo). Selected as a Video Effects work representing the art field by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Overseas Demand Development Support Organization. Since the late 1990s, he has been creating conceptual works that transcend various media, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, and net art, delicately intervening in human consciousness and perception. His works sometimes poignantly and humorously question the relationship between us and the world.

柳 健司 Kenji YANAGI
1961年 福岡県⽣まれ。佐賀県在住。1988年 東京芸術⼤学⼤学院美術研究科修了。1995年チェルシー美術⼤学⼤学院修了後、⽂化庁芸術家在外研究員として1 年間ロンドンに滞在。80年代半ばから、身体と物理的な空間の関係性に対峙する作品を発表。肉体と精神の解放や記憶の表象化を試みる作品は、観者の個人的情想の深化にふれる。主なプロジェクトスペースの開設及び運営：2004〜16年 KCA house（埼⽟）、2021年〜 kenakian（佐賀）

After graduating from Chelsea College of Arts in 1995, he Lived in London on a year-long scholarship from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Since the mid-1980s, he has been presenting works that confront the relationship between the body and physical space. His works, which attempt to liberate the body and mind and represent memories, touch upon the deepening of the viewer’s personal emotions. He has also been involved in the establishment and operation of various project spaces, including “KCA house” in Saitama from 2004 to 2016, and “kenakian” in Saga since 2021.
