何故これまで、アートなるものを続けてきたのか？
思えば、父のお土産の郷土玩具、怪獣、模型が初めての芸術的体験だった。
野山を彷徨い、その豊かさに包まれ夢想に耽った。
人生に彷徨いながら、いつの間にかここまで来た。
絵画とは？　美術とは？　アートとは？　芸術とは？
謎は深まるばかり。
日常の中で、突然出逢う感動的瞬間。
その何の変哲も無い日常の刹那が芸術的瞬間なのではあるまいか？
身の回りのたわい無いモノによってそれを、表現できないか？
これまで、そしてこれからもその為の試みなのだろう。

Why have I pursued art all this time?
Looking back, my first artistic experiences were the folk toys, monsters, and models from my father’s souvenirs.
I used to wander through fields and mountains, immersed in their richness, lost in dreams.
Roaming through life, I’ve somehow ended up here.

What is painting? What is fine art? What is art? What is the essence of art?
The mysteries only deepen.

In daily life, moments of being moved can suddenly occur.
Aren’t the ordinary moments in everyday life the artistic moments?
Is it possible to express them through the trivial substances in my surroundings?
What I have been doing, both in the past and moving forward, seems to be an ongoing attempt to achieve just that.

1956年福島県いわき市生まれ。1984年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科壁画研究室修了。以降、ギャラリーK、真木画廊、SPCギャラリー、いわき市立美術館、HIGURE17-15-CAS、伊達市立梁川美術館、ギャラリー勇斎、千年画廊伊之助等個展多数。1988年「大谷地下美術展」、1989年「現場89～90展」等野外美術展に参加。「檜枝岐パフォーマンスフェステイバル」等パフォーマンスにも関わり、韓国、ベルギー等との交流展をはじめ 2004年トルコAKBANKカルチャーセンター、イラン、テヘラン現代美術館招待。2010年フライズミュージアムベルリン「TO BE東京＋ベルリンコミュニケーション展」参加。2012年ポーランド・ポツナン・メディエーションズビエンナーレ招待。2013年Art Meeting 2013「田人の森に遊ぶ」(〜’18）参加。2014年「川崎でアート」（〜’17）。RING ART P&L 2015（～22）参加。「現在進行形」（〜23）。2018年かがわ山なみ芸術 2018 AYAKAWA（～20）、佐賀大学主催「発生の場」に参加。2019年「アートで田んぼ2019」に参加。2022年「３.11福島との対話」（TOKI artspace)、−大地 ground− 今を生きる現代美術作家展（千年画廊伊之助、池之端画廊）に参加。2023年現代アーティストセンター展（東京都立美術館）アートエコーまんのう（国立まんのう公園/香川県まんのう町）「HAKOBUNE」（三浦市）Mediations Bienalle istanbul (フェセナ・アートイスタンブール/イスタンブール）
