ギャラリーや美術館での作品発表に加えて、1998年からは Gallery of Contemporary Art and Architecture ⏤ House of Arts of České Budějovice（チェスケー・ブジェヨヴィツェ市現代美術・建築ギャラリー）のチーフキュレーターを務め、ギャラリーを国際的に重要なアート施設へと成長させる。2016年 Architect of the Year Award – Honorable Mention、2017年 Architecture Czech Award – Unique Feat 受賞。

In addition to exhibiting in galleries and museums, since 1998 he has been the main curator of the Gallery of Contemporary Art and Architecture ⏤ House of Arts in České Budějovice. To develop the gallery into an internationally important art institution. In 2016, he received the award Architect of the Year – Honorable Mention and the Czech Architecture Award 2017 – Unique Achievemen
このたび kenakianでは、チェコ共和国在住のMichal Škoda（ミハル シュコダ）氏を迎え、個展を開催する運びとなりました。Michal Škoda 氏は「空間と人間」を作品の基本的なテーマにもつアーティストであり、またキュレーターとしても活躍しています。境界、関係性、空虚（ポジティブな捉えによる）といった論点が常に絡み合うŠkoda氏の抽象的な作品からは、秩序の探求や、精神的な観点による美の追求をみてとることができるでしょう。それは、人々のための空間を創造するという点において建築を重視する彼のあり方と呼応しています。また、日常の瞬間を常にインスピレーションの源と捉えるŠkoda氏にとって、時間という概念もまた、非常に重要なテーマとなっています。是非、本展覧会を会場にてご高覧いただけますと幸いです。
kenakian is pleased to welcome Michal Škoda from the Czech Republic to his solo exhibition. Michal Škoda is an internationally active artist and curator. Škoda’s basic theme is ‘space and man’, with the main issues of delimitation, relationships and emptiness (in its positive aspect) intertwined in his work. And Škoda’s work explores order and beauty from a spiritual perspective, which echoes his approach to architecture, which focuses on creating spaces for people. The concept of time is also an important theme for Škoda, who sees everyday moments as a constant source of inspiration.
